Cultural Events

The Tucson Indian Center host special events to honor elders and organizes holiday events to provide food and toys for needy families. Staff organizes fairs, gatherings and conferences in order to bring the American Indian Community together around issues and to celebrate culture.

Job Fair

Our job fair helps local companies connect with Native Americans throughout our community. Tucson Indian Center Annual Job Fair began in 1990 with 150 job-seekers and a dozen or so employers. In 2006, the Tucson Indian Center partnered with Tucson Newspapers Inc (TNI) and changed the name to Annual CareerBuilder Diversity Career Fair. In 2007, over 99 employers participated and an estimate of 2,500 people attended this annual event.

Native American Family Wellness Day

A Health Promotion/Disease Prevention (HP/DP) effort that raises awareness and encourages Native American families and individuals to take simple steps to make healthy lifestyle choices. This annual initiative is co-sponsored by the Pascua Yaqui Tribe, Tohono O’odham Nation, Tucson Indian Center, Tucson Area Indian Health Service, Arizona Department of Health Services Tobacco Education and Prevention Program, Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System and the University of Arizona Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health.
